Last week I was in Cape Town doing a hand over of the Water collected from my #waterblogbox project. I felt satisfied and complete for doing my part in assisting the Cape Town Water Crisis.
For people that live in Cape Town & don’t think there is a water crisis in Cape Town – they are obviously living in some bubble and have not visited places like Baphumelele Childrens Home or DARG animal shelters. These are the two organizations that I had the pleasure of sending water to. They were so grateful and appreciative of our support and that really fuels my ambition to do more. Visiting Baphumelele Children’s Home was heartbreaking. The Children are orphaned and a lot of them battling Aids and other sicknesses. They are damaged, weak and fragile. They latched onto us and did not want to be put down. They were yearning for love and most importantly …the human touch.
While I was there, I felt like they really needed some toys to learn and develop their fine motor skills. I will be in touch with the orphanage again to send out some toys to the kids very soon.
I will post a short video on my visit to these organizations soon.
